Notes:
The headword phrase is quoted from Aeschylus fr. 139.4-5 Radt. There, in the lost play Myrmidons, Achilles faults himself for causing Patroklos' death after lending him armor, and compares himself to an eagle shot down by an arrow that had been fletched with an eagle's feathers: they both caused their own misfortunes (Dunbar, pp. 488-9).
The verb is an alternative (to a(lisko/mesqa) spelling for the present indicative middle/passive, first person plural form of a(li/skomai (I am being taken, captured); see generally LSJ s.v.
[In her critical apparatus Adler notes that ms F omitted this entry.]
[1] From the scholia to Aristophanes, Birds 808 (web address 1), where the headword phrase, except for the verb, is quoted; cf. epsiloniota 64 and tau 183. [Adler notes that mss AG omitted the lemma's repetition at the end of the gloss.]
