Notes:
[1] An attempt to etymologize the headword kw/mh (also at kappa 2259, kappa 2260). The first option relates it to the verb koima/omai, and implicitly to the noun kw=ma (kappa 2251). The second relates it to the group of words including xw=ma, xo/w, xw/nnumi, involving piles of earth.
[2] cf. kappa 2260, kappa 2263.
[3] Third person singular, aorist, of kwma/zw "I carouse, I burst in on," extracted from the quotation which follows. For this verb see also kappa 2252, kappa 2254, kappa 2255.
[4] Greek Anthology 7.186.3-4 (Philip); quoted already at epsilon 548. Find another excerpt from this epigram at lambda 742.
