Adler number: epsilon,634
Translated headword: extended, intense
Vetting Status: high
Translation:
[Meaning something] requiring care. "His work/task was extended."[1]

Greek Original:
*)ektene/s: e)pimele/s. e)/rgon d' h)=n au)tw=| e)ktene/s. kai\ *)ekte/nousa.
Notes:
Same entry in ps.-Zonaras. The headword, presumably extracted from the quotation given, is an adjective in the neuter nominative (and accusative) singular, and it is glossed with the equivalent form of a more commonplace adjective (used in sense II of LSJ s.v.). This form of the headword adjective is first attested in the Septuagint (3 Maccabees 3.10).
This entry has no parallel in earlier lexicography (though Hesychius glosses the same headword with diatetame/non, 'stretched-out').
See also epsilon 635, and cf. epsilon 636, epsilon 637.
[1] Quotation unidentifiable.
[2] This addendum (lacking, Adler reports, in mss TFVM) proffers a present active participle, feminine nominative singular, from the same verbal stem as the headword adjective. It must be quoted from somewhere but is otherwise unattested.
