Headword: *)ecwlo/qreusas pa/nta to\n poreu/onta a)po\ sou=
Adler number: epsilon,1836
Translated headword: you destroyed everyone going from you
Vetting Status: high
Translation:
It should be written thus [i.e. poreu/onta] and not porneu/onta ["fornicating"].
Greek Original:
*)ecwlo/qreusas pa/nta to\n poreu/onta a)po\ sou=: ou(/tw grapte/on kai\ mh\ porneu/onta.
Notes:
The headword phrase comes from Psalm 72.27 LXX, quoted more fully at pi 2079.
The verb e)cwlo/qreusas is second person singular aorist of e)coloqreu/w, better spelled e)coleqreu/w, from o)/leqros. The participle poreu/onta is an emendation from the editio princeps for the manuscript reading porneu/onta (also found in the LXX). The comment seems mistaken, since the verb poreu/omai uses middle forms.
