Meaning proclaim him exalted. David [says]: "raise up the Lord our God and worship at the footstool of his feet." While long ago the divine temple had been considered as the footstool of God, now [it is considered as] the churches throughout all the land and sea, in which they render obeisance to God.

Ὑψοῦτε: ἀντὶ τοῦ ὑψηλὸν αὐτὸν κηρύττετε. Δαβίδ: ὑψοῦτε κύριον τὸν θεὸν ἡμῶν καὶ προσκυνεῖτε τῷ ὑποποδίῳ τῶν ποδῶν αὐτοῦ. ὑποπόδιον τοῦ θεοῦ πάλαι μὲν ὁ θεῖος ἐνενόμιστο νεώς, νῦν δὲ αἱ κατὰ πᾶσαν γῆν καὶ θάλατταν ἐκκλησίαι, ἐν αἷς τῷ θεῷ τὴν προσκύνησιν ἀπονέμουσιν.
