Translation:
[This is said] because anger [θυμός ] [is] sharp and short-lived; but wrath [ὀργή ] [is] slower but more lasting. So [the Psalmist] called the long-lasting punishment "anger of wrath."[1]
In reference to God, [Scripture] calls the bitter retributions wrath and anger and affliction. For it does not say that [evil] is the nature or will [of the avenging angels].[2]

Θυμὸς ὀργῆς: ὁ μὲν γὰρ θυμὸς ὀξὺς καὶ ὀλιγοχρόνιος: ἡ δὲ ὀργὴ βραδυτέρα μέν, μονιμωτέρα δέ. θυμὸν τοίνυν ὀργῆς τὴν ἐπίμονον ἐκάλεσε τιμωρίαν. θυμὸν καὶ ὀργὴν καὶ θλίψιν ἐπὶ θεοῦ τὰς πικρὰς τιμωρίας καλεῖ: οὐ γὰρ φύσιν οὐδὲ προαίρεσίν φησιν.
