Θιγεῖν: γενικῇ. ψαῦσαι, ἐγγίσαι. πολλὰ σιδηρείης χερσὶ θιγόντα μάχης. εἶτ' ἀξιώσατ' ἀνδρὸς ἀθλίου θιγεῖν. πείθεσθε, μὴ δείσητε: τἀμὰ γὰρ κακὰ οὐδεὶς οἷός τε πλὴν ἐμοῦ φέρειν βροτῶν.
[1] Likewise or similarly (minus the grammatical point) in other lexica. The headword is aorist active infinitive of θιγγάνω (cf. theta 383). It must be quoted from somewhere (not necessarily the second quotation that follows here; Latte on Hesychius theta581 opts for Euripides, Alcestis 1117, and there are in truth numerous possibilities).
