Notes:
Aristophanes, Wasps 923-925 (omitting here, from 923, the accusative a)/ndra). This is from the allegorical mock-prosecution scene where Kleon (kappa 1731) prosecutes General 'Labes' (= Laches), both of them in the guise of dogs. See web address 1.
Some modern editors see 'the mortar' (theta 534) as standing for Sicily, where Laches had recently been in command (Thucydides 3.86-115 passim). MacDowell is unconvinced.
