Headword: Συντροχάσαι
Adler number: sigma,1647
Translated headword: to run together, to run with
Vetting Status: high
Translation:
[Meaning] to pour in, to be filled, from a metaphor of wheels.
Greek Original:
Συντροχάσαι: καταντλῆσαι, πληρωθῆναι, ἐκ μεταφορᾶς τῶν τροχῶν.
Note:
Likewise or similarly in other lexica; references at Photius sigma816 Theodoridis. The headword as transmitted is the aorist active infinitive of this rare verb, συντροχάζω . If correct, it is presumably quoted from somewhere, but Theodoridis draws attention to συντροχάσῃ (similarly glossed) in Cyril and Hesychius, quoted from Ecclesiastes 12.6 LXX.
Keywords: definition; dialects, grammar, and etymology; imagery; religion
