The headword, extracted from Aristophanes (see n. 1 below), is third person plural, present indicative active, of the rare verb paroywne/w (connected with omicron 1087 etc.).
A neuter noun related to it, paroyw/nhma, is memorably used by Aeschylus' Clytemnestra when describing Agamenmon's "bit on the side", Chryseis (Aeschylus, Agamemnon 1447).
