[2] Jensen, it seems, regarded this quotation as the extract from Hyperides which had generated the entry as a whole. However, (a) the better assumption is that H. has merely used the aorist passive infinitive which is the present headword, and (b) the quotation is anyway an approximation of Josephus, Jewish Antiquities 5.222. See on this Theodoridis' Photius edition, vol.II p.LXXXVII, and again Favuzzi [cited under alpha 1990] 61.
