Translation:
Also [sc. attested is] ran out aground.[1]
That is [something] has come outside of [e)/cw] putting in to shore [ke/llein]. For a)poke/llein [means] going ahead.[]2
Greek Original:
*)/wkeilen. kai\ *)ecw/keilen. o(/ e)stin e)/cw tou= ke/llein ge/gonen. a)poke/llein ga\r to\ ei)s tou)/mprosqen i)e/nai.
Notes:
[1] That is, a compound form of the headword verb; from epsilon 1830 (but not, Adler reports, in mss AF.) For the simple verb, see also omicron 106.
[2] Theodoridis in his edition of Photius (vol. II, p. XXIX) argues that these two sentences come in reverse order from a corrupted version of Photius's entry on ke/leuqos (kappa554). The entry in the Synagoge has e)cw/keilen, o(/ e)stin e)/cw tou= ke/llein ge/gonen; in Photius, the entry on ke/lhs, part of which appears in the Suda at epsilon 1829, has slipped in between e)/cw and keilen. The Suda has taken the last part, restored an initial omega, alphabetized it under omega, and left the simple verb w)/keilen with a gloss that is appropriate only to the compound e)cw/keilen.
