Headword: *kupria/zousai
Adler number: kappa,2737
Translated headword: blooming, blossoming
Vetting Status: high
Translation:
[Meaning they which are] flowering.
Greek Original:
*kupria/zousai: a)nqou=sai.
Note:
The headword is a present participle in the feminine nominative plural. However, the verb is apparently not this kupria/zw, otherwise unattested, but, as in other lexica (see the references at Photius kappa1228 Theodoridis), kupri/zw. As kupri/zousai, therefore, the headword has been identified as a variant reading for kupri/zousin in the Septuagint (Song of Solomon 2.15).
