On the ambiguity between "loaf" and "pessary" see already epsilon 2428 and kappa 1940. The similarity to "stump-tailed" (kappa 1952) mentioned in the gloss is presumably coincidental; stump-tailed is derived from ko/los, and is properly spelled with a single lambda.
