A kind of haircut. For there are two kinds of haircut, "boat" and "garden". The "boat" arranges the hair on the skin [i.e. involves shaving],[1] while the "garden" arranges the hair on the forehead.[2] Aristophanes [writes]: "do you know what you most look like with those feathers? A goose painted on the cheap." --- "And you [look like] a blackbird closely shaven with a 'boat'."[3]

Κῆπος: εἶδος κουρᾶς. δύο γάρ εἰσι κουραί, σκάφιον καὶ κῆπος. τὸ μὲν οὖν σκάφιον τὸ ἐν χρῷ, ὁ δὲ κῆπος τῷ προμετώπῳ κεκοσμῆσθαι. Ἀριστοφάνης: οἶσθ' ᾧ μάλιστ' ἔοικας ἐπτερωμένος; εἰς εὐτέλειαν χηνὶ συγγεγραμμένῳ. σὺ δὲ κομψίων γε σκάφιον ἀποτετιλμένος.
