Adler number: kappa,1025
Translated headword: was dancing in triumph over
Vetting Status: high
Translation:
[Meaning he/she/it] was rejoicing at.[1] "He was dancing in triumph over the Romans' misfortunes and was so much delaying the pursuits as to believe and to learn that no one was left in the city."[2]
Notes:
[1] The headword -- presumably extracted from the quotation given -- is third person singular, imperfect, of καταχορεύω (kappa 871).
[2] Quotation (and individual) unidentifiable. Adler notes, without adopting, two suggested emendations for the transmitted πειθῆσαι : πεισθῆναι (Bernhardy) and πύθεσθαι (Wolf).
