[2] Nothing else is known of this work, although Caligula's skill and interest in rhetoric is commented on by Suetonius (Life of Gaius 53), Josephus (Jewish Antiquities 19.208) and Tacitus (Annales 13.3.5). Confusion with a different Gaius is not to be excluded; perhaps [DW] even gamma 10 (q.v.).
