Adler number: eta,299
Translated headword: evil day
Vetting Status: high
Translation:
[Meaning] the day of judgment, the eternal punishment. David [says]: "to make him gentle from the evil days." For he who accepts a small chastisement in the present time will have his judgment gentler.
Note:
Theodoret (PG 80.1633c) on Psalm 93.13 LXX; cf. alpha 196, delta 298. The psalm actually reads αὐτῷ in the dative ("for him"), which makes the verb intransitive.
