The headword -- perfect middle/passive participle, masculine nominative singular, of the verb e)gei/rw (cf. epsilon 57, epsilon 58, epsilon 59) -- must be quoted from somewhere: perhaps Josephus (Jewish Antiquities 8.64 or Jewish War 7.166, both in reference to building work), though there are numerous other possibilities in Patristic texts and in the Byzantine period.
