[1] Same headword -- imperfect, third person singular, of σκάζω -- but different, more literal gloss (ἐχώλαινεν "was lame") in Hesychius epsilon6223; and cf. sigma 519.
[2] A version of Theophylact Simocatta, Histories 3.7.8; the editions print the verb there as ἐσύκαζεν "was scrutinizing".
