Headword: Ἔρως
Adler number: epsilon,3071
Translated headword: love, erotic desire
Vetting Status: high
Translation:
[Meaning] the first and supreme element of the enquiry that looks deeply into things that exist, together with love of labor and readiness of mind. Love is a very powerful hunter of all beautiful things and, besides, of all good things. See the rest under 'element';[1] that is to say, readiness of mind and love of labor; things that indeed Damascius calls the first and supreme elements of the enquiry that looks deeply into things that exist.
On love see under Diogenes.[2]
