[1] Routinely taken -- including by Adler, and by Theodoridis on Photius s.v. -- to be Theopompus the comic poet (thus his fr. 83 Kock), but equally likely to be Th. the historian (thus FGrH 115 F400). Kassel-Austin, at their fr. 103, are equivocal.
