Translation: [Another name for] the maiden [Persephone], whereas Amaia [is] Demeter.
And [there is] a proverb: Amaia looked for Azesia. In reference to those taking a long time in searches.
Greek Original:Azêsia: hê korê, Amaia de hê Dêmêtêr. kai paroimia: hê Amaia tên Azêsian metêlthen. epi tôn poluchroniôs zêtêsesi chrômenôn.
Notes:
The apparent coherence of this entry -- repeated from the perspective of Amaia at
alpha 1541 -- is thrown into some confusion by the fact that it is Demeter who has the name Azesia in a fragment of
Sophocles (981 Pearson, cited by LSJ s.v.[web address 1]); cf.
Zenobius 4.20.
Kalamaia was a festival of Demeter and Persephone at
Eleusis (LSJ s.v.).
