[1] In fact, in the transmitted text of Demosthenes 57 Against Euboulides neither the deme toponym Poros nor, as claimed by Harpokration (in the entry which is the Suda's immediate source), the demotikon Porios appears. If, as is likely, Harpok. is correct in regarding the missing word as the demotikon, there are individuals in chaps. 40 and 42 to whose name it may once have attached, before falling out of the manuscript tradition.
