[1] Dative plurals, likewise in other lexica. The headword occurs in (and is quoted here from) Homer, Iliad 11.438 (web address 1); see further, next note. It does lack, there, the final n; this was added by the Suda compiler or his source (possibly from some context where this form was followed by a word beginning with a vowel, e.g. Greek Anthology 15.40.42). The headword is otherwise always in the neuter plural accusative e)/gkata: see LSJ s.v. Used in contexts of war and sacrifice.
