[1] The transmitted headword is nominative plural of the adjective eparatos ""accursed", which occurs in that form in the New Testament (John 7.49). However, the gloss is a bad match for that, and in other lexica the reading is eparastoi, which Theodoridis on Photius s.v. (citing Pollux 2.63 and 3.71) very plausibly claims as a corruption of eperastoi. If that is correct, as is assumed here, the two parts of this entry do not belong together.
