[1] = Synagoge sigma182, Photius sigma471 Theodoridis, and similarly elsewhere. Suda ms A, Adler reports, joins Photius in making the final word fili/a| dative (the reading adopted by Adler). The Synagoge and other Suda mss make fili/a nominative, offering 'friendship', rather than 'a pouring... for friendship' as a gloss. The headword in the plural spondai/ is often used metonymically in the sense of 'treaty' or 'alliance'. The nominative singular headword may be a generic lexical reference or extracted from some literary source.
[2] Greek Anthology 6.190.7 (Gaetulicus), also quoted with more context at kappa 2665. The nominative lemma, an adjective derived from the primary headword, occurs in the accusative in the quotation. It is not attested elsewhere.
