[Meaning he/she/it] obliterates, mixes together.
Greek Original:
Συγχεῖ: ἀφανίζει, συμμιγνύει.
Likewise in the Synagoge (sigma281) and Photius' Lexicon (sigma666 Theodoridis). The headword -- third person singular, present indicative active, of συγχέω -- is presumably quoted from somewhere (there are numerous possibilities), but note alteady Hesychius sigma2198 s.v. σύγχει (imperative, differently accented); his glossing is ταράττει καὶ τάρασσε , i.e. a third person singular and an imperative. The imperative occurs at Homer, Iliad 9.612, with a negative and θυμόν as the object ("do not trouble my mind"); at Iliad 13.808 σύγχει is an unaugmented imperfect, again with θυμόν as its object.
