[1] Likewise or similarly in other lexica; references at Photius sigma596, where Theodoridis declares the headword -- neuter singular of this adjective -- to be quoted from Proverbs 8.8 LXX: straggalw=des there).
[2] Lacking, Adler reports, in mss AV. The phrase is probably generated by the quotation which follows. In any event the adjective is related to the verb straggalo/omai "be twisted or knotted."
