Of the god (or goddess: both genders are attested) Pales, originally Palilia; celebrated, from early times, on 21st April (later regarded as the 'birthday' of Rome itself, and re-named Romaia: Athenaeus, Deipnosophists 8.361E-F [8.63 Kaibel]).
