[Meaning someone who is] sacrificing, celebrating.
Greek Original:
*)orgia/zwn: qu/wn, e)pitelw=n.
Note:
Likewise or similarly in other lexica; references at Photius omicron435 Theodoridis. If the headword -- present participle, masculine nominative singular, of o)rgia/zwn -- is directly quoted from somewhere, there are possibilities in two historians (Appian, Civil War 4.6.47; Herodian, Ab excessu divi Augusti 5.5.4). More probably though these entries are generated by the accusative singular o)rgia/zonta in Plato, Laws 910C (cf. under omicron 511); cf. Timaeus, Platonic Lexicon ad loc.)
Keywords: definition; historiography; philosophy; religion
