sc. in Sparta. The word (which should have double lambda rather than the single one of the Suda mss) means "(those) about to be eirenes" -- the eiren (epsiloniota 189) being the Spartan 20-year-old.
This entry perhaps, as Adler suggests, derives from glosses on Plutarch, Lycurgus 17, where the names of all six teenage year-groups are given.
