Quoted from Diogenes Laertius 7.25 (repeated 7.108).
Zeno of Citium was the founder of the Stoic school (see generally zeta 79). According to the Stoic definition, a "due action" is that one which when done has a reasonable justification (D.L. 7.107; Stobaeus, Extracts 2.85, 14-15). See also kappa 77; and for discussion on the topic cf. Engberg-Pedersen (1990) 126-140 and Annas (1993) 96-98.
Besides kappa 77, cf. also, more generally, kappa 78, kappa 79.
