[1] Same or similar glossing in other lexica; see the references at Photius kappa251 Theodoridis. The headword is third person singular, present middle/passive, of katadu/w. It must be quoted from somewhere (other than the the quotation given here, which uses a participle); Theodoridis suggests Plato, Republic 401D, or Demosthenes 24.182; there are in fact numerous possibilities.
[2] Quotation not identified by Adler, but identifiable via the TLG as Procopius, Secret History 1.13 (but with a negative, 'not being...(but ...)', here omitted).
