= Synagoge epsilon953; Photius, Lexicon epsilon2228; and cf. already cf. Hesychius epsilon6923, which provides another gloss in addition. The headword is a feminine abstract noun in the nominative singular. If it is quoted from somewhere, extant possibilities include Gregory of Nyssa (Funeral Oration for Bishop Meletius 9.452) and Theodoret (Epistle 33.10). In general the headword is only attested in late Greek (earliest: a papyrus of Philodemus = Ariston fr. 13.2 Wehrli), and is particularly popular among Christian authors, especially Gregory and Theodoret.
