Polybius 1.18.9 mentions it in the context of the First Punic War; see at pi 2214 (with slightly different spelling), and also e.g. Diodorus Siculus 23.8.1 and 23.9.5. It was in southern Sicily, about 50km east of Akragas/Agrigentum. The toponym was Herbes(s)os (Barrington Atlas map 47 grid E4).
