Notes:
Best known as that of Greek mythology's counterpart to Noah. See generally OCD(4) 442-3, and cf. beta 478, theta 114, tau 1190; also nu 24 = tau 2 = tau 71 for 'before Deucalion' meaning antediluvian. Deucalion was the son of Prometheus and Clymene, and he and his wife Pyrrha were the survivors of the flood which Zeus sent to punish humans for their lack of piety.
A homonym is D. the son of Minos (and father of Homer's Idomeneus).
