Notes:
[1] = Synagoge chi34, Etymologicum Magnum 807.22; cf. Hesychius chi201; scholia to Aeschylus, Agamemnon 266. See also chi 131.
[2] This is not among the extant works or fragments of Polybius, and not otherwise identifiable -- except, seemingly, as a parody or imitation of Homer, Odyssey 19.471 (web address 1), which uses the feminine article th\n (referring to Penelope) instead of the Suda's masculine to\n (i.e. Homer refers to 'her heart' rather than 'his heart'). Also Homer uses e(/le ('took hold of') in place of the Suda's unmetrical e)/labe ('grabbed', translated here as 'came over').
