Son of Skydimos;[1] a sycophant. This man's father was a public debtor and died in prison. And Aristogeiton himself, as the inheritor of the debt, was subsequently seized. His mother was sold [as a slave] by the state. In prison he stole a register and was found out by the jailers, and he bit off the nose of the man whose register he had stolen. And[2] after he had run away and Zobia had given him shelter, asking for a good turn when he was strong [again], he hauled her off to the auction-house of the metic-tax; and his own sister he did sell for export. He indicted Hyperides for making an illegal proposal in his decree after Chaironeia and he did not convict [him].[3]
