Translated headword: you will pluck off
Vetting Status: high

Greek Original:
*)apodre/yesqe: a)potrugh/sete. ou(= kai\ pi/ona turo\n a)podre/yesqe.
Notes:
The headword is presumably extracted from the quotation given.
[1] Greek Anthology 6.303.3 (Ariston); cf. iota 711, sigma 1700. In this epigram--plainly an imitation of Leonidas of Tarentum in Greek Anthology 6.302 (cf. alpha 3965)--the poet addresses the mice inside his home; cf. Gow and Page (vol. I, 43) and (vol. II, 112). Gow and Page note (vol. I, 43) that here the Anthologia Palatina (AP) transmits a)podre/yasqai (aorist middle infinitive; i.e., from which to pluck off). However, they follow the AP scribe designated C (the Corrector), the Anthologia Planudea, and the Suda compilers in reading the second person plural, future indicative middle (ibid.).
