[1] So too the parallel entry in ps.-Zonaras; and cf. Aristophanes of Byzantium, cited by Eustathius in his Commentary on Homer's Iliad 2.70.22 van der Valk. The headword -- present middle/passive participle, masculine nominative plural -- is thus more likely to be extracted from Homer than from the quotation which follows. (For the verb a)mu/nw, see also alpha 1676, alpha 1679, alpha 1680.)
[2] Polybius fr. 99 Büttner-Wobst; cf. alpha 2202, epsilon 941, pi 933. Büttner-Wobst notes (p. 528) that this fragment was attributed to Polybius by Ursinus (Fulvio Orsini, 1529-1600). Walbank (p. 751) notes that Polybius 36.2 (web address 1) is the probable context for this fragment.
