Aristophanes [writes]: "that very clever man Euaion [came forward] naked [...] and said some very democratic things: "you see me [too] in need of four-stater protection; nevertheless I will speak [...]: if the fullers provided cloaks for the needy, whenever the sun turns, none of us would ever get pleurisy"."[1] This Euaion was a poor man.
It is a proper name.[2]
