Lycurgus in the [speech] Against Me[ne]saichmos [writes]: "and we ourselves call this festival Pyanopsia, but the other Greeks [call it] Panopsia, because they know that all [pa/ntas] the crops are in view [e)n o)/yei]".[3] They say that the Pyanepsia [festival] is celebrated, for Apollo, on the seventh of Pyanepsion. And they say that one ought to speak of [the] Pyanepsia [festival] and the month Pyanepsion: for they boil beans [pu/ana ... e(/yousin] in them, and the fruited branch is carried.[4]
