Appian [writes]: "but [that] one of them, trustworthy and obedient for the deed, happening on the consuls in a restricted [place] asked for the password."[4] "And certain plausibilities coincided as a result of the reversal; [ones] which the Romans misrepresented, more ambitiously than was proper."[5]
And elsewhere: "... on account of strength of body and [a habit of] rushing headlong into battle being trustworthy to the masses": meaning taking the lead.[6]
