[Joseph], the thoroughly good. When he was 17 years old this man was envied by his brothers and was sold [by them]; when he was 30 years old he became the ruler of Egypt. In that [country] he begat two sons, Ephraem and Manasseh; he died 110 years old. And Moses[1] took out the bones of Joseph with him: for he had sworn an oath to the children of Israel, saying, God will surely visit you; and you shall carry up my bones away hence with you.[2]
