[Jehu,] king of Samaria; [it was he] who killed Jezebel[1] and the sons of Ahab in accordance with the word of Elijah the prophet.[2] He collected all the multitude of the people and said with malice, "Ahab served Baal[3] a little, but Jehu will serve him a great deal. And now call the prophets and priests of Baal to me, so that I may have a great sacrifice to Baal. Anyone who stays away will not live." When all had assembled and he had approached the idol face to face, he said, "Inquire if there is any servant of the Lord," and when none was found, he killed everyone and burned Baal. But he did not continue to go in the law of the Lord till his end.

Jehu was king of Israel ca. 842-815 BCE. Although his reign and his slaughter of the wife and children of Ahab is recorded in 4 Kingdoms, chapters 9 and 10, the Suda follows George the Monk, Chronicon 260.7-20.
Jehu is the first Old Testament figure to appear in art, for the Black Obelisk of the Assyrian King Shalmaneser III, ca. 827 BCE, (web addresses 1 and 2 below) shows him in the center of the second panel from the top, groveling at the feet of the Assyrian monarch. He is also the archetypal wild driver: 4 Kingdoms 9:20 (web address 3).
