For only recently having chosen Pa[u]sistratos for this reason, because he had a capacity for action and daring, they immediately started changing their minds to the opposite as a result of the reversal."[3]
And elsewhere: "generally the masses have judgments about community matters in a manner similar to these, since nature teaches them."[4]
And Polybios: "the Romans, using their daggers not with a downward stroke but by grasping [and thrusting] -- since they had an effective point to them -- stabbed them in their chests and in their faces and killed them all."[5]
