And [wealth which comes] out of a single year is called a)/fenos ["prosperity"], whereas plou=tos [comes] out of long periods of time. Homer [writes]: "to pile up prosperity and wealth."[2] And the same [author] says elsewhere: "by which they live well and are called prosperous."[3] As being merely called prosperous, but in truth not being so.
