Headword: *me/nexmos
Adler number: mu,609
Translated headword: Menechmos, Menekhmos, Menechmus
Vetting Status: high
Translation:
A proper name.
Greek Original:
*me/nexmos: o)/noma ku/rion.
Note:
Otherwise unattested in this precise form, though it easily becomes the more promising-looking Manaichmos/Menaichmos. As such, Bernhardy may have been right to equate the present individual with mu 140; but see also mu 141. (The Athenian litigant whose opponent(s) hired Lycurgus and Dinarchus -- see under lambda 825, etc. -- was more probably called Menesaichmos.)
