    תּמיד, סאַמע אין דער רעכטער בהלה, װען ייִדן שטופּן זיך, דער
אַרײַן, דער אַרױס, און מע שלאָגט זיך אין װאַגאָן פֿאַר די ערטער, װי,
להבֿדיל, אין שול פֿאַר הקפֿות ― פּונקט דעמאָלט זײַנען זײ דאָ.  זײ
בײדע: ער און זי.
    ער ― אַ שװאַרצער, אַ גראָבער, אַ צעבורשעטער, מיט אַ בעלמע
אַף אײן אױג. זי ― אַ רױטע, אַ דאַרע און אַ געשטופּלטע. בײדע אָפּגע־
ריסן, אָפּגעשליסן, בײדע מיט געלאַטעטע שיך און בײדע מיט אײנע און
די זעלבע סחורה: ער אַ קױש, זי אַ קױש; ער מיט געפֿלאָכטענע  קױ־
לעטשלעך, האַרטע אײער, פֿלעשלעך מיט זעלצערװאַסער און מאַראַנצן,
זי אױך מיט די זעלבע געפֿלאָכטענע קױלעטשלעך, האַרטע אײער, פֿלעש־
לעך זעלצערװאַסער און מאַראַנצן.
    אַמאָל מאַכט זיך, אַז ער האָט אין קױש סקאָרמוטשן מיט רױטע
װײַנשל, שװאַרצע קאַרשן אָדער גרינע עסיקזױערע װײַנטרױבן. דעמאָלט
קומט זי אױך מיט די זעלבע רױטע װײַנשל, שװאַרצע  קאַרשן אָדער
גרינע עסיקזױערע װײַנטרױבן.
    און בײדע קומען זײ תּמיד אין אײן צײַט, שטופּן זיך דורך אין
אײן טיר פֿון װאַגאָן און רײדן בײדע אַף אײן לשון, נאָר מיט אַ באַזונ־
דערער אױסשפּראַך. ער ― אַביסל יאַדישליװע, אָן אַ רי"ש, װײך, צע־
גאַנגען, װי אָן אַ צונג. און זי ― שעפּעליאַװע, דװקא אַ פֿול מױל מיט
צונג.
